Trail-Johnson directs Macalester's community service and civic engagement efforts. She can discuss the philosophical underpinnings that inform Macalester's civic engagement efforts as part of Macalester's mission to prepare students for public life as engaged and ethical citizen leaders. Trail-Johnson can also provide information on the multifaceted ways the college and its faculty and students interface with the community through community-based learning opportunities, community service, work-study, internships, civic leadership programs and socially responsible policies/practices. She can discuss trends in community service as well as the role of higher education in enhancing the public good.

Trail-Johnson has been at Macalester since 1989.
