Grant Projects at Macalester
Bush Faculty Development Program on Race and Diversity
Hewlett Liberal Arts
The Hewlett Liberal Arts Grant, administered through the Center for Scholarship and Teaching, seeks to help the college fulfill, in a more deliberate, integrated, and effective manner, its objectives for student learning and development set forth in our mission statement and Statement of Purpose and Belief.
Hewlett Pluralism and Unity
In this second year of a two-year pilot program, thirty first-year students
will be supported each year in building competencies that enable them to
communicate effectively and forge relationships with others whose racial
and ethnic backgrounds are different from their own. It will also prepare
these students to provide leadership in cross-cultural relations on campus.
Lilly Project for Work, Ethics and Vocation (2001-2004)
The Lilly Project for Work, Ethics and Vocation is designed to explore how moral, ethical and religious concerns have shaped our personal, national, and global understandings of our working lives. The Project grows out of the Lilly Endowment's invitation to Macalester College to participate in an initiative to foster religious leadership for the 21st century by exploring the concept of vocation.
