Concerned about the H1N1 influenza and need to talk to someone?
Macalester's Employee Assistance Program (EAP) can help: If you or anyone you know are worried about the H1N1 flu, Macalester's EAP offers our employees toll-free 24-hour access to trained mental health counselors at 1-800-854-1446 (English) or 1-877-858-2147 (Spanish):
- The EAP works like a triage - the call center counselor will talk to the caller and access the severity of the need - based on this assessment they may authorize up to 3 face to face follow-up visits per issue with a licensed mental health counselor.
- An employee can always call the EAP as many times as they wish to if they do not want face to face support.
- The EAP website is www.lifeworks.com and both the user ID and the password are "lifebalance". The website primarily is an online library of life issue topical articles and resources.
