Macalester College is committed to supporting the personal growth and development of our students who may struggle with eating and body image concerns. We believe that a student's health directly impacts their ability to fully participate in the Macalester educational experience and we seek to help students create a framework for a life-long understanding of personal wellness.
The Health & Wellness Center has developed service guidelines and identified resources for students and families who are seeking to address eating concerns - including, but not exclusively, anorexia, bulemia, binge eating, compulsive exercising, obesity. We recognize that a multidisplinary approach is the most effective strategy to these complex concerns and encourage students and their families to consult the specialty organizations listed in our resources. The Health & Wellness Center staff is willing to assist individuals in accessing these resources and to provide supportive services as appropriate. The Dean of Students Office is also available as a referral and support entity.
Questions regarding the service guidelines and resources may be directed to the Health & Wellness Center at 651.696.6275. Please do not hesitate to contact us if we may be of assistance.
