Ongoing Physical Activity Classes

Research has shown the undeniably positive effects of exercise on mental health.

Open to students only. Register for free physical activity classes that focus on the mind and body connection.  The six-week classes begin during the week of March 28 except for where noted.

Registration opens on Monday, March 21, 2016Register for any class here.  Space is limited. You will receive a confirming email with class location if you are enrolled in the class. 

Dance Conditioning (begins 4/3).   The class will consist of stretch, dance based conditioning exercises, across the floor, and a fun jazz or contemporary style combo at the end. Open to the both experienced and non experienced dancers! Please wear comfortable movement clothes and bring either socks or jazz shoes for the second half of class.

Sundays, 4:00 - 5:00 pm

Yoga Strength

Increase strength, flexibility, and body awareness, and leave feeling more calm and refreshed.  Mats are available or feel free to bring your own.

Wednesdays, 7:00 - 8:00 pm 

This Yin-style Yoga class aims to increase strength, flexibility, and mindfulness, and leave you feeling more rejuvenated and focused. All levels welcome. Mats are available or feel free to bring your own

Tuesdays, 8:30 - 9:30 pm

This yoga class combines the mind and body with instruction for all levels. Whether you are a beginner looking for a way to relieve stress and tension, or you are an advanced yogi looking to challenge yourself, this class is sure to leave you feeling calm and refreshed.

Wednesdays, 8:00 - 9:00 pm

This fun and high-energy dance class incorporates styles from around the world, such as Latin, hip hop, belly dancing, Bollywood, Persian, and maybe even some throwbacks to the 1970s and 1980s.  All levels are welcome. Don't feel intimidated - come out and dance.

There are also several classes that are offered during the noon hour through WHAM programs. These six-week classes have a $20 student registration fee. Registration begins March 14 at Health and Wellness Center for these classes or pay and register online.
