Sixteen students got together for fun and food at Mercado Central on Saturday, April 5 via a trip co-sponsored by the Department of Hispanic & Latin American studies and the Immigrant and Refugee Week. Mercado Central is a Latin American cooperative marketplace on Lake Street in Minneapolis, and features delicious cuisine, as well as shops where regular (and irregular) Minnesotans can purchase things not available in other stores. There's a taqueria, pupuseria, tortilleria, dulceria, and panaderia, plus many more. Clothes and shoes, jewelry, music, books, and other services are all at the Mercado. Read more about the marketplace here.
Clearly, fun was had by all.
