casa hispana The Department of Hispanic Studies sponsors a residence on campus for students who are interested in living in a Spanish-speaking environment. Residents speak only Spanish while in the house. Two Spanish native speakers from Spain or Latin America live in the house with students to supervise the house and organize various activities. The residence is intended for students who have achieved at least an intermediate level of proficiency and want to maintain or improve their language skills. Residents of La Casa Hispana celebrate a variety of Hispanic traditions by organizing educational events open to the community. The house also functions as a hospitality center when distinguished scholars are visiting the department. Applications for Casa Hispana are now closed. Watch this space, becase we'll take applications for any openings that may arise for Spring 2009. If that happens, applications will be available around late October, 2008.
