11.18 Long Term Care Insurance

All employees and their family members are up and down the family tree (spouses, parents, grandparents, and children) are eligible to purchase John Hancock Life Insurance Company's popular and affordable Custom Care long term care insurance product at a discounted worksite rate. This opportunity give you, your partner, and/or a family member the following:

• 5% worksite discount
• 20% partner discount if you both apply (includes spouses, same-sex and opposite-sex non-married partners who have lived together for 5 years, and same-generation family member who have lived together for 5 years, and same-generation family members who have lived together for 5 years)
• 10% discount if one partner applies and the other doesn't
• international coverage
• comprehensive coverage, including nursing home, assisted living, home health care, adult day care, respite care and hospice care

Benefit Management Consultants, Inc. has been given exclusive access by Macalester College to offer educational seminars and assistance to interested employees regarding long term care insurance. As part of this process, employees of the College and extended family members are given an ongoing opportunity to purchase high-quality individual long term care insurance form John Hancock Life Insurance Company.

While the College is not endorsing this product, Macalester administrators recognize long term care as an important issue to many people and adopted a strict screening process to select a long term care insurance vendor. Macalester believes that Benefit Management Consultants, Inc. can appropriately and professionally bring these products to the workplace. Employees will be free to choose the John Hancock product offered by us, or to select another long term care insurance product at their discretion.
