The Macalester College Humanities Resource Center is open to all students, faculty and staff. In addition to its 20 Mac lab computers, the facility has four audio and video editing suites, two scanning stations with Adobe Creative Suite, and a midi-keyboard music composition suite with 3 keyboard stations. The lounge provides an area for comfortable study, small group work, or reading. These areas are available to the entire Macalester campus on a walk-in basis. Free color printing is also available for academic use.
HRC Assistants provide support to students, faculty, and staff for equipment located within the HRC and nearby classrooms. This includes helping patrons with the Mac computers, scanners, midi keyboards, and digital editing equipment. They help faculty prepare materials for classes and assist with immediate problems using classroom technology in the Humanities building.
