Global Citizenship Student Award

The Global Citizenship Student Award is presented annually by Macalester College and the Institute for Global Citizenship to the graduating senior who best demonstrates a commitment to the ideals and practice of high academic performance, internationalism, multiculturalism, and civic engagement. This may be demonstrated through student work in a broad range of majors and disciplines, and the selection committee hopes the applicant pool will reflect diverse representation from the Humanities, Sciences, Fine Arts, and Social Sciences.

Shantee Rosado '09 was awarded the Global Citizenship Student Award. This honor is presented annually to the graduating senior who best demonstrates a commitment to the ideals and practice of high academic performance, internationalism, multiculturalism, and civic engagement. Shantee, a double major in sociology and psychology, impressively articulated her views on global citizenship in an intellectual, yet deeply personal fashion, tying her extensive culturally focused work in communities from South Minneapolis to Fiji to her development as a student and leader.
