Information Services Advisory Groups
There are a number of committees and
interest groups at Macalester geared toward discussing issues related to
information resources, broadly considered. Although these groups have different
goals, structures, constituencies, agendas and interests, all share
concerns with various aspects of information services within the context of
Macalester as an academic community.
- The Information
Services Advisory Committee. This committee, chaired by Professor
Eric Wiertelak, advises Joel Clemmer, Vice President
for Library and Information Services. The Committee assists in planning
and overseeing issues of general interest for Macalester College's
Information Services departments: Computing and Information
Technology, the DeWitt
Wallace Library and Media Services. Membership
includes faculty, staff, students (and, in an ex officio role,
staff members from each of the Information Services departments).
- The Administrative Users' Group. Chaired by Doug Rosenberg, this group
meets regularly to discuss issues relating to CARS and
other computing tools affecting on-campus administrative offices.
- The Web
Management Team. This group is responsible for creating the
policies and procedures which guide the development of Macalester's
presence on the World Wide Web. The WMT is chaired by Sara Suelflow, the College's
Web Coordinator. WMT holds
periodic brown-bag discussions to gather input from the Macalester
community regarding our Web site--these discussions are typically
announced in the Campus Bulletin and the Today.
