Education Abroad Advising & Accounts Specialist
Markim Hall, 208
As part of the International Center, I advise students for a subset of majors, and serve as the main point of contact for the three Macalester-led semester programs: Perspectives on Globalization in the Netherlands; Globalization, Society, & the Environment in South Africa; and the German Studies program in Germany and Austria. Additionally, I oversee most of the billing and financial arrangements related to Study Away, insurance for Study Away students, and coordination of special projects.
I'm trained as a geographer, with a B.A. and M.S. from the University of Wisconsin-Madison. For my graduate degree, I conducted fieldwork in South India, researching the causes of debt among small farmers. As part of my undergraduate degree, I studied at the University of St. Andrews in Scotland, and completed a museum internship in London. Prior to joining Macalester in 2013, I worked in the Off-Campus Study Office at Grinnell College.
In my spare time, I love to cook, read fiction, and spend time outdoors. I've also been taking Hispanic Studies courses here at Mac, which have been fantastic!
