Rachel Kamagne-Jones joined the International Center in November 2010. She is a 2007 Macalester graduate, where she majored in Anthropology and African Studies. During her time as a student at Macalester, Rachel studied abroad in Mali. While there, she had the opportunity to learn a local language, live with a homestay family, travel around the country, and even do independent research. Following graduation, Rachel served as a Peace Corps Volunteer in Cameroon. There she taught English and Computer Science to secondary and post-secondary students. Most recently, she worked as the Outreach Coordinator in the Study Abroad Office at the University of Illinois.

In her role as Education Abroad Advising Specialist, Rachel advises students, manages pre-departure programming (advising, orientations and proposals), works with Macalester exchanges, and coordinates with the Study Abroad Institutional Review Board (SAIRB).
