Last Semester

In fall 2012, 126 students participated in a semester of off-campus study, and 2 students in a year-long course of study. This total marks a slight decrease from students that studied off-campus in fall 2011 (145). Students visited 50 countries, 44 programs or universities, and enrolled in 96 different themes with 41% of students participating in Macalester-recommended programs.

Trends in fall 2012 included:

  • Interest in Asia has increased, particularly in India.
  • High number of Geography majors participating in off-campus study.
  • Europe attracted 34% of students, a notable decrease from previous semesters.
