Integrate (don't ignore) your study away experience
What you can do:
- Did you improve your foreign language capabilities? Don't lose it! Participate in a language table, visit the language houses, and maintain your proficiency by seeking out native speakers
- Class discussion - share your experience/gained perspective/knowledge with classmates in a proper setting. Did you have a wonderful internship or independent study project? Share it by giving a short presentation to your classmates.
- Thinking about an Honors Project? Talk to your professors about doing an Honors Project based on your independent study or internship you did abroad - this is the perfect opportunity to delve deeper into a subject you found interesting and inspiring.
- Don't forget to correspond with friends and family from your host country. Stay in touch and stay abreast of current events in your host country- become the resident expert.
- Work-study
and volunteer opportunities at the Int'l Center (IC)
- First-year int'l student mentor
- Study away peer advisor
