At Macalester, we know that your son or daughter chose Macalester in part becuase of a strong pre-existing interest in global affairs. We fully expect that each of them will consider studying off-campus and we work hard to ensure that the opportunities to do so are available for students in every major, from Anthropology to Neuroscience -- and beyond.

We encourage you to become familiar with the advising resources elsewhere in this website, but also to know that at every step of the way, there are experienced Macalester study abroad staffers -- as well as a myraid of engaged faculty members and students with international experience. Our mission is ensure that each student recieves full credit for study abroad (with specific courses counting in at least one major). Finally, once each student is approved to study abroad, there is a lot of individualized information that we will send directly to you, the parents.
