The mission of the Office of Institutional Research is to provide information which supports institutional planning, policy formation, decision making, program development and assessment.

The following statements define the major functions of the Macalester College Office of Institutional Research. Yearly activities are largely based on these goals:

  2. Report institutional data externally to federal and state agencies, HEDS, ACM, and in response to other requests.
  3. Provide information internally within the college that bridges the intellectual and social aspects of college life.
  4. Provide support for the research activities (i.e. survey design, research methodology, assessment techniques, etc.) carried out by other offices, committees and departments on campus.
