Work Groups

In order to more effectively manage our work and maximize our results, we have adopted a ‘work group’ approach. This leverages expertise across our four sub-departments and maximizes return on staff effort. We have two basic types of groups. Standing work groups deal with ongoing or recurring concerns (e.g. Professional Development). Project work groups help us manage major new initiatives and then disband. Charge, structure and outcomes are determined by members of each work group, reporting regularly back to the rest of the department. New work groups are formed as needed.

Standing work groups:

• ITS Web pages (ensure that ITS Web pages are clear, accurate and regularly updated).
• Professional Development (develop processes for performance review and personal/professional growth).
• Software Services (review software supported by the college and levels of support).
