Replacing College-owned Computers: The Computer Replacement Fund
The Computer Replacement Fund (CRF) is a central budget line allocated by the College to ITS. It is used to replace office computers, workgroup printers and make some upgrades (such as additional RAM) for faculty and staff members. This funding source was previously called the Micro Fund.
THE FUND PROCESS ALSO PERFORMS THESE SERVICES:
- Replacing computers in general-use and departmental computer labs.
- Repairing College-owned computers.
- Where appropriate, helping defray computer replacement costs due to theft.
- Refurbishing and re-allocating computer equipment to meet campus needs.
Our goal is to replace eligible computers every four years and eligible workgroup printers every six years, depending on funding levels. The Fund can afford to regularly replace one computer per faculty or staff member.
