Donations Program Terms
General Guidelines:
- Donations are for off-site use only. Donations will not be made for on-campus use.
- Donations to individuals are limited to 1 computer per calendar year.
- Donations to nonprofits are limited to 10 computers per calendar year.
- Proof of nonprofit status (faxed or e-mailed) is required.
- More computers may be provided upon consideration or as available.
- Requests
for ongoing donations will not be considered. If several
computers are needed over time, or if our inventory does not support
the number of computers requested, the requesting organization is
responsible for submitting follow-up requests.
Request prioritization and timeframes:
- Donations requests are filled as available and as time allows.
- Donations requests are considered on a first come, first serve basis.
- Requesters
should expect a processing time of no less than 1 month. There is
no guaranteed timeline for donation requests.
About our computers:
- Donated computers are prepared with the computer’s original operating system installed.
- No other software is installed and none will be provided by the college.
- We cannot guarantee a particular model or computer age.
- If
a desired model/spec is not available, and if the requester does not
accept the equipment that is offered, the donation request will be
closed.
- The requester is welcome to submit follow-up requests to check availability of desired models/specs.
- We will inform the recipient of any known hardware deficiencies.
- Macalester ITS does not provide any guarantee or support for donated computers.
