Symantec Endpoint Protection for Windows and Symantec
AntiVirus for Macintosh
Symantec Endpoint Protection (SEP) is an antivirus, antispyware and firewall utility for Windows XP and Vista. Symantec AntiVirus for Macintosh is an antivirus program for Mac OS X 10 on Intel and PPC platforms.
IMPORTANT: Symantec software is not yet available for Windows 7 or Mac OS X 10.6 (Snow Leopard). Windows 7 users can download a free virus scanner from AVG or any other vendor that supports Windows 7. Snow Leopard users can download a free virus scanner from iAntiVirus or any other vendor that supports 10.6. We will update this page when new versions become available.
Macalester provides antivirus software to
all faculty, staff and students. Don't install more than one kind of
antivirus software or firewall - it will cause problems on your computer. If
you already have antivirus software installed and want to install
Symantec instead, first uninstall your existing software.
You will need to enter your username and
password to access these files. Download and save the appropriate file.
On Windows, double click the file to begin the installation. On Mac
OS X, double click the zip file, then double click the installation file.
Don't change any of the default settings during the
installation or the program may not work properly.
