Updates and Service Packs

A service pack is a bundle of bug fixes and improvements. Microsoft and Apple highly recommend you install them. Some of the downloads are quite large, but will only take a few minutes if you're on-campus. Download and run the appropriate service packs. They may take some time to install.

Windows Update is Microsoft's patch distribution system for the Windows Operating System. It is important that you update your computer with any "critical updates" whenever they are available.
