Beyond the 9 programs outlined here, Macalester LAS students also have, with departmental approval, access to selected additional programs in the region, either because these are organized by approved study abroad sponsors that offer programs in multiple sites (ACM, BUTLER, CIEE, IES, LEXIA, MSID and SIT) or because they will appear on the approval list of other Macalester academic departments. We will also recommend one program in Cuba if/when the academic license issues are resolved and when study abroad programs can return to the island with official and legal status.

The Creole culture, created by a blending of French and African traditions, has its own rich history, language, cuisine, music and lifestyle. Students attend classes on the Université des Antilles et de la Guyane (UAG) campus and live with Martinican families."
