About Macalester College Archives

The Macalester College Archives collects, preserves, and makes available for research materials that document the origins, developments, activities, achievements, and people of the College.

The Archives supports the educational, research, fiscal, legal, and service missions and purpose of the College and serves as its institutional memory. The Archives assists College administration and operation by providing historical and contextual information and also serves as an educational resource, encouraging scholarly research, enhancing instruction, and promoting the history of Macalester.

The College Archives collection is not an open browsing collection. Access to the Archives collection is by appointment only. We are also not able to do searches for information for individuals who are currently not associated with the college.

The digitization of the Catalogs, Echo, and Bulletin was made possible by the Arts and Cultural Heritage Fund, administered by the Minnesota Historical Society, through the vote of Minnesotans on November 4, 2008.
