Classroom Use - cont'd Spontaneity is defined as: 1. The copying is at the instance and inspiration of the individual teacher, and 2.The inspiration and decision to use the work and the moment of its use for maximum teaching effectiveness are so close in time that it would be unreasonable to expect a timely reply to a request for permission. Limits to the Above Guidelines: 1. Copying is done for one course only. 2. Only one work from a single author. 3. No more than three authors from a collective work. 4. No more than nine instances of such multiple copying in one class term. 5. Copying shall not be used to create, replace or substitute for anthologies or collective works. 6. Copying of "consumable" works (i.e.workbooks, exercises, standardized tests, test booklets and answer sheets) is absolutely forbidden. 7. The same item is not reproduced term to term. (This violates the "spontaneity" qualification.) 8. No charge made be made to students beyond actual photocopying.
