It is possible to set up your wireless laptop computer or the computer

In order to make this happen, you need to be connected to the internet
or network through either the wireless network or a wired port, download
the iPrint client and drivers for the printer selected.

SETTING UP PRINTING USING iPRINT
Setting up your computer to print to library printers is quick and
easy - it should take just a few minutes if you follow these simple
directions.
STEP 1 --
Open a browser window and type in: http://c1iprint.macalester.edu/ipp
STEP 2 --
Select printers JERRY or BEN if you want to
print to the printers on the main level in the reference cluster
or printer JAY or BOB if you want to print
to the printers on the lower level in the Library Computer
Lab area. If you do not have iPrint installed on your computer, you
will be prompted to download the client. After iPrint is downloaded,
you will need to identify the printer you want to install again.
STEP 3 --
Once you have iPrint client on your computer, iPrint will automatically
download the driver and install the printer on your computer.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS ABOUT PRINTING TO LIBRARY PRINTERS
-Is there a charge for printing in the Library Lab?
There is no charge for printing for Macalester faculty, staff
and students although we ask that these users 'print responsibly'
by printing double-side when appropriate and limit the printing of
multiple copies of the same document (that's why we have photocopiers).
Other users (alums, neighbors, general community members, etc) are
asked to limit their printing to a few pages. If these users need
to print beyond this, they will be charged 5 cents per page.
-How do I print double-sided/single-sided to Library Lab printers?
The iPrint client is set to install and setup the library
printer that you select (JERRY/BEN or JAY/BOB) to automatically default
to duplex printing.
For PC computers running Windows XP (this includes all desktop
PCs in the library as well as all library PC laptop computers), you
select FILE, then PRINT. Click on PROPERTIES or PREFERENCES (depending
on which lab printer you are sending your print job to). In the LAYOUT
TAB, select FLIP ON LONG EDGE for double-sided printing or NONE for
single-sided printing, then click OK.
For Macintosh OS X users, select FILE, then PRINT. While in the Print
menu, choose DUPLEX from the drop-down menu options. To print double-sided,
check the box, next to PRINT ON BOTH SIDES. If the box is not checked
the document will print single-sided.
-Is color printing available in the Library Lab?
Sorry, there is no color printer available in the library. There
is a color printer available in the HRC on the first floor of Humanities
available for use by Macalester faculty, staff and students. Kinko's
(across Snelling Avenue from the Campus) is the closest place which
has color printers available to general public users.
