IMAGING ANNEX SOFTWARE

The Library Computer Lab's Imaging Annex provides a number of useful software packages for web design, graphic design, layout, and even animation. This software includes the Adobe Web Suite and the Macromedia Web Suite.

Please note that due to the number of programs available and their complexity, lab consultants are not able to provide full support on all software titles available.

Supported Software

Supported software means two things. First, lab consultants have been given basic training on its operation and should be able to provide basic assistance with them. Second, supported software also has additional "support options" available including documentation on the web site, scheduled training sessions/classes and the availability of scheduling WebTutor appointments for these titles.

  Photoshop - photo editing and web graphic design.

  Acrobat Professional - photo editing/web graphic design.

  Dreamweaver - web editor widely used on campus.

  Captivate - best features of Powerpoint and Flash combined.

Other Available Software

Other software titles are also made available for use by library lab users. These programs are available, but do not have support available as our lab consultants have not been trained in their use. Because our lab consultants are students and all have different computer backgrounds, they may be able to provide assistance, but this depends on the individual consultant.

Adobe InDesign - designed for creating images from scratch.

  Adobe Illustrator - designed for creating images from scratch.

  Adobe Go Live! - web editor comparable to Dreamweaver.

  Adobe Live Motion - animation studio program.

  Macromedia Fireworks - graphics editor comparable to Photoshop.

  Macromedia Freehand - paint program comparable to Illustrator.

  Macromedia Flash - program for creating animations/web pages.
