Introduction
to the Moodle Course Management System for Librarians
PRESENTER:
Peter Kirlew, Biosciences Librarian, University of Minnesota
Libraries
SESSION DESCRIPTION:
Moodle is an open-source course management system that can deliver
online library instruction content (such as classes, library workshops,
specialized training materials for colleagues, etc.) in an asynchronous
format. It is relatively easy to learn because it provides pre-designed
layout templates, and no HTML or programming skills are necessary.
Value-added Moodle features include discussion forums, simple quizzes,
etc. Each workshop participant will learn how to start building a basic
Moodle library instruction class.
