The library lab makes a variety of computer equipment available for checkout from the lower level information desk.

PLEASE NOTE: Always Return Equipment to a Staff Member

Equipment should always be returned to a lab consultant or library staff member and should notbe just left on the counter when returned.

EQUIPMENT AVAILABLE

The library lab has PC and Mac laptops available for checkout, as well as digital cameras and other equipment for use in creating digital content for web pages.

WHO CAN CHECK OUT EQUIPMENT

• Equipment checkout is limited to current Macalester faculty, staff and students.
• To borrow equipment from the library you must have a current valid Macalester ID and not have outstanding library charges.

LOAN PERIODS

• Regular loan periods for laptops is 3 hours to students and 3 days to faculty/staff. Exceptions to this must be approved by a supervisor.
• Regular loan periods for digital cameras is 24 hours.

Equipment is available for checkout during normal library lab hours from the lower level information desk.

FINES/CHARGES

• Late fees for equipment returned after the due date/time are up to $10 per quarter hour.
• The person who checked out equipment is solely responsible for any loss or damage to the equipment until it is returned to a library lab staff member.
• Charges will be assessed for damaged/non-returned equipment.
