E-DICTIONARIES
  • Rikai -- this is a wonderful site that lets you take an online dictionary with you as you search the web. When you move your mouse over kanji, you see the reading in hiragana and English translations. It does have problems with search engines though, so don't try to use it if you are searching for books or articles in databases.
  • Jim Breen's WWWJDIC Japanese-English Dictionary Server. This one is interesting because you can copy and paste chunks of text into the converter. It parses the sentences and provides dictionary definitions that you can printout or read online.
  • Lycos Dictionaries
  • WorldLingo online translator
