Open Access Day, October 14, 2008

The first Open Access Day, this was an international event with sponsored programs at colleges and universities that participated in the day-long event. Gavin Baker, SPARC, spoke during the lunch hour in the Harmon Room. In the evening approximately 25 students joined us for pizza, conversation, and a video conference with speakers who focused on increasing awareness and understanding of Open Access (OA). Open Access Day has been expanded into Open Access Week, October 19-23, 2009.
