Binding Preparation: Initial Steps
|
|
- Confirm binding instructions, match the items and get organized.
- NOTE: Most of the work you will do should be done BEFORE you enter the Millennium binding functions. Take the time to organize the journals first to avoid problems!
- Make sure the printer is turned on and ready.
- Put each group of journals in order and verify that there are no obvious gaps or missing issues.
- In the Check-In function in Millennium, check the issues in hand against the check-in boxes.
- Go to the Check-In Record screen, and read the Binding Info, to verify that the materials you've pulled match the binding instructions.
- Remove un-numbered cardstock ads.
- Record vol./# on covers of issues that require them.
- Check for damage - Give any damaged issues to a supervisor.
- Rubber band the issues together using the correct type of rubber band - "H"-bands for commercially bound volumes, regular rubber bands for In-House binding.
