A detailed explanation of each step on this checklist is given in the manual under Binding Preparation Guidelines. This is a quick reference guide only. Consult the Guidelines if you have any questions.
  1. Use the Binding Pull List, and check Millennium for the details of each title.
  2. Determine whether it is bound in house or commercially. (MAC, CL, or HOUCHEN.)
  3. Leave at least one issue on the shelf.
  4. Collate & examine materials carefully.
  5. Anything missing or damaged? Leave on Supervisor's desk with note.
  6. Number the issues (on each of the covers, upper right-hand corner) if necessary.
  7. Remove un-numbered cardstock ads.
  8. Separate index? Find it, don't bind without it.
  9. Duplicates on file? Pull corresponding ones--put in Minitex box or add as needed.
  10. Update Millennium, print, and fill out binding slip.
  11. Attach slip with instructions on top, rubberband issues together.
  12. Initial the slip.
  13. Put prepared volumes on truck next to desk or on correct commercial binding shelf.
