Frequently Asked Questions about Kindle eBook Readers
- Where do I check out a Kindle?
Kindles may be checked out from the library Service Desk on the main level of the library.
- I'm going to be travelling and would like to borrow the Kindle for longer than 1 week. Can I renew it?
If you make arrangements with us at the time of checkout, we can accomodate special requests if we know about it ahead of time. In order to provide access to the broadest audience, we are currently limiting circulation to 7 days.
- What about taking notes or adding comments?
Because these Kindles are registered to the library, some of the special features that are useful for individuals are available, but you won't be able to access them once the Kindle is returned.
- How long does the battery last?
Generally if the wireless is turned off, the battery should last for several weeks with a full charge. Recharging is fairly quick and only requires plugging the power cord into the device and then connecting to an electrical outlet.
- I've heard that there is an audio feature. How does that work?
Many of the Kindle ebooks have an audio feature that you can choose to turn on. See the Kindle guide for more information.
- Whom do I contact if I have questions?
We're asking borrowers to contact us by email using our AskUs form.
