Registration for the Library Technology Conference 2012 has now closed. Thanks to those that are currently making plans to attend. We look forward to seeing the 450+ registered partcipants at the conference in March. For those who did not register to attend this year, we hope that you will consider attending next year's conference.Three Speakers Highlight 2012 Conference
This year's LibTech Conference will feature three keynote speakers:
- Andrew McLaughlin is Vice President at Tumblr and a fellow at Stanford University's Center for Internet and Society. Previously, Andrew has served as the Deputy Chief Technology Officer of the United States, head of global public policy for Google and as the Executive Director of Civic Commons.
- Larry Johnson is an acknowledged expert on emerging technology and its impacts on society and education. He is the CEO of the New Media Consortium and the founder and visionary leader of the NMC's Horizon Project, which identifies and describes emerging technologies likely to have a significant impact within higher education and other learning environments.
- Chad Mairn is a librarian, teacher, author and 'technofile' who frequently shares his enthusiasm for 'all-things technology' as a speaker at library and technology conferences. He is an Information Services Librarian and adjunct professor at St. Petersburg College in Florida and the Chief Technology Officer of Novare, a library technology company which he co-founded.
Session Offerings Cover Diverse Topics
The Library Technology Conference will offer as many as 80 traditional, workshop, hands-on and poster sessions being led by 115 presenters representing more than 65 different libraries. Topics will range from usability testing to cloud computing, from privacy issues to mobile computing.

Inclement Weather Policy
Snow and possible bad weather ...in March ...in Minnesota. Hard to imagine, we know, especially this winter with it's unseasonably warm weather and very little snow (so far). The Library Technology Conference does have a policy for inclement weather situations and for coordinating cancellation of the conference in the event of severe weather.
