Pa Kou Golden Flower is what my name means in Hmong. My name is Pa kou Moua. I was born in Laos on May 4, 1986, to the father of Vang C. Moua and Ka Ying Xiong. I am the youngest of four sisters and I have one younger brother. I am Hmong, an ethic group from Mongolia, which immigrated to China, than Laos and Thailand. In 1989, my family immigrated to California. After living in Stockton, California, for nine years, we moved to Saint Paul, Minnesota, and have been living here for five years. I am a senior at Arlington High School and will be attending Augsburg or Northwestern College. I will be double majoring in Public Relations and Political Science. I am the number one doubles with my partner, Sandy Ly, for my tennis team and was the lead in my school play. I also am part of Y.O. (Youth Organization), which works to end child labor, and I am now creating an organization to stop the United States from naturalizing trade with Laos and justifying compensation for all the Hmong who fought in the "Secret C.I.A. war" during the war with Vietnam. My goals for the future are to travel around the world and build political change through educating youth to vote in all elections.
