Yer Lee

Hello everyone! My name is Yer Lee. I attend Harding Senior High as a junior, soon to be the graduating class of 2004. Yeah! My favorite subjects are English, French, and Physical Education. I've been on Harding's tennis team for two years, soon to be three. I played badminton my freshman year, but I decided to discontinue because the team is huge. My hobbies are playing tennis, drawing, writing about my life and/or feelings, and seeing movies, bowling, or playing pool with my boyfriend and friends. My future goals is to become a Social Worker or Counselor, something that has to do with working with or helping teenagers, and travel around the world before I get married and have children in a humongous house. I suppose I should introduce my family now.

My family is made up of two girls and seven boys. My sister is the oldest and I am the youngest, so we never got the chance to grow up together or share our sister love. She's married with ten children. Four of my brothers are also married with children. My parents are pretty old. My daddy is in his early sixty's and my mama in her mid fifty's. We are not the perfect family, but there is no such thing as perfect, and I love them all deeply. From this point on, I would like to focus on myself. I know it sounds selfish, but that's actually not my attitude.

Some things and/or people that are important to me are my parents, education, boyfriend, friends, and Keystone. My parents have done many things for me. In the past they cared less for me, but I do not wish to talk about the reasons why because I have before so many times that I feel so stale. I wish to move on with greater and better memories.

Education is very important to me because as you've all heard, it is the key to success. I tend to work hard and do well in school. However, because MACCESS has been a great challenge, I don't think I've done as well as in school.

Shawn Michael LaBrasseur is my sweetheart at this moment. He is a gentleman and lends me a hand anytime I need it regardless of the subject or situation. He often helps me financially. He is a great person whom motivates me with his support.
My friends, although I don't have many, keep me sane. They remind me to do well in school and share good times with me. They often talk to me about personal issues, and I like to help give them the best of advice I can.

Keystone is a youth leadership program, in association with the Boys and Girls Club-Eastside, I am currently active in. I am the secretary at this moment. We are a group of teenagers between the ages of fourteen to eighteen. We participate in activities in categories such as Leadership, Education, Unity, Enterprise, Volunteer, and Social and Recreational Community Service. All these activities keep me busy and active with the world, which I really enjoy. For my last and final paragraph I will give you my opinion about MACCESS and some great piece of advice for your course.

My experience in MACCESS was very challenging. I had many other things going on and I had difficulty finding the time to do homework and/or study speeches. Also, all the work that was assigned made me feel very overwhelmed and stressed. Overall, I think MACCESS is a great program to prepare students for college and I believe many can benefit from the program. Some pieces of advice I strongly recommend are to stay focused, plan ahead, make time (and lots of time) to do your work, and listen to all your professors even if you think you don't need to.
