Some afternoons are for workshops. These include: Time
Management, Applying to College, Writing, and Selecting
a College or University of Your Choice
*In the Time Management Workshop, taught by Sedric McClure,
students learn how to set goals, budget their time, and
apply those skills during the MACCESS Program.
*In the Applying to College Workshop, students learn how
to research various colleges and universities and apply
for financial aid.
*In the Writing Workshop, students learn skills for effective
writing, including writing personal statements for college
applications.
*In the Selecting a College or University of Your Choice
Workshop, students learn how to identify at least three
colleges or universities that match their interests, proven
abilities, and preferences for geographic location.
These workshops are designed to supplement and complement
the morning academic classes by providing students with
skills and information necessary both to think, speak, write,
and communicate effectively and to be successful at being
accepted by a college or university of their choice.
