Synopsis
Humanity is facing large-scale, environmental challenges; yet, many think of "environmentalism" as the sole concern of special interest groups and niche activists. However, the solutions to these challenges will require a widespread change in perspective and behavior on the part of all of humanity. Author and biologist, Carl N. McDaniel, tells the stories of eight environmental leaders who are leading the way in the areas of clean air, preserving biodiversity, healthy farms, living locally, population, steady-state economics, global climate change and ecological design. In exploring their efforts, McDaniel shows the limitations and possibilities for positive change.
