Meet Our IVCF Staff - Emily!

As Intervarsity staff, I walk with students as they figure out what it means to know and follow God in all the complexities of life at Macalester and beyond.  This looks like getting coffee with students, mentoring, training, leading discussions & bible studies, and providing hands-on ministry and spiritual growth opportunities.  I am passionate about seeing students have every corner of their life touched by God! I also influence the broader Macalester campus for the kingdom of God by engaging people with the gospel and training students to be salt & light.   I long for students to experience the love of God in an authentic and powerful way! As a student ran organization, students bear the primary responsibility for determining the vision and activities of the chapter.  As a staff member, I invest in students and help them to make wise decisions that will have a positive impact on their relationship with God and the campus

 I grew up in Michigan and attended a small college within the University of Michigan.  I double majored in Interdisciplinary Social Science & Psychology.  I became a Christian at college and served God in Intervarsity throughout college.  In June of 2002, I got married and moved to the twin cities. My husband, Dave, is a graduate student in Chemical Engineering at the University of Minnesota.   Before going on staff, I was in Americorps for a year, and was a Children’s Services Coordinator at a homeless shelter in Dakota County for a year and a half.   Hobby-wise, I am a huge fan of camping, theater, aquariums, chocolate, and International cooking!
