RUN FOR A Representative Committee OR EXECUTIVE Board POSITION
The elections for Representative Committee positions take place each April immediately following the Executive Board elections, while the five First-Year Representatives are elected in early September. The regular Executive Board elections take place in late April, while elections for Program Board Chair and Financial Affairs Committee Chair take place in February. Look for an email from MCSG announcing elections during these times!
All members serve for a academic year unless an LB member elects to leave the college or resign.
ATTEND WEEKLY MCSG MEETINGS
You don’t have to be a member of MCSG to attend meetings. Weekly meetings of the Legislative Body occur on Tuesday evenings from 7 to 9 p.m. in the Weyerhaeuser Boardroom. Join us!
If you don't have time to attend Tuesday meetings but would like more information on MCSG's weekly activities, check out meeting summaries or the weekly meeting agenda for a better glimpse of what MCSG is currently working on.
CONTACT A MCSG MEMBER TO SHARE YOUR COMMENTS AND CONCERNS
Whether you're a member of a student organization, have a concern or an idea, or just want to chat, all of MCSG serves as a resource for you. A good place to start is by contacting via email one of your Class Representatives or a member of the Executive Board. Email MCSG or stop by the office in the second floor of the Campus Center.
Interested in getting involved but not interested in running for office? Campus committees are a great way to get involved with student academic affairs, financial concerns, managing student organizations, and much, much more! More information can be found here.
THINK ABOUT WORKING FOR MCSG
A few work-study positions allow non-Legislative Body members to connect to their student government. Check this site or the Macalester Employment Services jobs board in the spring or fall to learn more or apply for an open position.
