Favorite thing about MCSG: My favorite thing about MCSG is that it is a community of students committed to improving Macalester based on students' perspectives.
Campus issues I like to talk about: Campus issues important for me include fossil fuel divestment and ensuring no campus staff is paid less than a living wage, including subcontracted employees. I believe strongly in students building collective power and exercising our influence strategically in order to push administrators and gatekeepers to take action when they drag their feet.

Favorite thing about MCSG: Learning how to look at the world as a marble and realizing that tiny moments and random acts of kindness can greatly impact someone.
Campus issues I like to talk about: I would like to talk about helping 1st gen students and students from low-income families transition well in college and mental health issues.

Favorite thing about MCSG: Working with a set of diversely-involved people, whom I would otherwise not have the pleasure to get to know.
Campus issues I like to talk about: Broadly speaking, I enjoy hearing about concerns and suggestions and then moving them from idea to action. Some issues that I have a special affinity for include accessibility and campus environment for low-income students, building structures into MCSG to encourage better communication with other students, and improving classroom and learning spaces.

Favorite thing about MCSG: The community of people in MCSG and the people who we get to interact with.
Campus issues I like to talk about: I'm very interested in using MCSG as a forum to connect various orgs. I think there are so many interesting intersections between orgs that aren't fully explored. I'd also love to talk about how we attract international students to Macalester.

Favorite thing about MCSG: My favourite thing about MCSG is our willingness, as a body, to admit our fallibility.
Campus issues I like to talk about: My primary motive for being on MCSG as a representative of the Class of 2018 is to bring to the light some of the narratives and concerns surrounding diversity and inclusion on various axes. Because these can easily become buzzwords that occur ubiquitously in campus conversations, I believe there is a need to interrogate what we really mean when we talk about Mac as a diverse institution, and to truly reflect our commitment to diversity and inclusion in our policies, systems, dialogues, events and more.

Favorite thing about MCSG: I love that MCSG is a place where we can really discuss different ideas and help bring them to life on campus.
Campus issues I like to talk about: Although Mac prides itself on it’s diversity and internationalism, there is still a lack of awareness among many students about different cultures/races etc. Thus, I believe it is really important to make sure people on campus have the opportunity to truly learn about other cultures and spread awareness about this.
