Welcome!

Macalester First Aid is a student organization that aims to bring emergency medical education and service to the Macalester College community. We hold regular CPR/AED classes throughout the semester and offer at least one EMT-B course every year. At our weekly meetings we run through medical/trauma scenarios, give presentations on current medical practices, and practice response techniques through continuing education.

Meetings are every Wednesday at 10 p.m. in the Campus Center, Room 206.

All students are invited to attend; no training or medical experience required.

MCEMS

At least one EMT-B and one responder will be on-call 7pm-3am on Fridays and Saturdays.. If there is a medical emergency, call Security at 651-696-6555 and you may ask to have us dispatched to help you. Obviously, you still need to call 911 first if the situation warrants it!

A Tu Lado

In the spring of 2011, two of MFA's original leaders, Ethan Forsgresn '11 and Terence Steinberg '11, founded A Tu Lado. (www.atulado.net) It's a nonprofit dedicated to providing emergency medical education to communities in need. Today, A Tu Lado operates in Caracas, Venezuela, and Cochabamba, Bolivia, collaborating with local partners to design and implement self-sustaining models of paramedicine. A Tu Lado not only seeks to help develop standardized EMS courses in partnership with local medical providers and public universities, thereby raising the level of pre-hospital care, but also to integrate preventative practices into EMS that help address the root causes of health issues.

A Tu Lado prizes its roots with MFA. If you are interested in learning how you can work with A Tu Lado, contact them at info@atulado.net.
