MCEMS was present at Founder's Day. Thanks to the EMTs and responders who helped make this happen! Also, thanks to members of Macalester's administration for their trust in us and their teamwork.
MFA staged simulations in Olin Rice, Macalester's science building. Station leaders invented scenarios of medical emergencies that were designed to hone the skills of both EMTs and responders.
Picture 1: EMT Nathan Scheiner (left) and responder Irene Gibson treat patient Mark Skopec, who is pretending to have fallen down the stairs while under the influence of alcohol.
An extended view of the same scene. Now visible are responders Zach Shapiro (closest to Irene on the left) and Oliver Kendall (behind Zach). On the far left is EMT Nina Storniolo, who pretends to be Mark's concerned friend and watches the scene.
EMT Sarah Blau treats Igor Stanceric, who pretends to have a head injury.
Thanks to Taryn Valley for taking the pictures!
Erin Newton, Lauren MacNeill, Sarah Blau, Henrie Slocum, and Gina Megson provided medical care for an environmental awareness event on the Capitol grounds.
