An Introduction to Millenium Create Lists
Morgan Wilson, Reference/Electronic Resources Librarian, Law Library, Hamline University School of Law
While many staff are familiar with text-based Create Lists which enables authorized staff to create, view and edit records in a review file, the Create List functionality will soon be available in all Millennium modules making this functionality even more accessible to staff. This session looks at what's different and what's better in the Millennium version of create lists. The focus will be on exploring the functionality of the software, rather than giving specialized guidance about list creation strategies.

Millennium ILL Module
Greg Woodard, Interlibrary Loan and Library Information Specialist, Carl H. Lundquist Library, Bethel Seminary
Aaron Albertson, Public Services/Interlibrary Loan Specialist, DeWitt Wallace Library, Macalester College

This session will give an overview of the Millennium ILL module and talk about the positives and negatives of the modules. Two libraries, one which primarily uses the Millennium ILL module with OCLC (Macalester College) and one which makes use the emailing of requests functionality (Bethel Seminary Library) are included in this presentation. Specific mention will be made of the software programming done by MINITEX, a leading provider of ILL materials to Minnesota libraries, to facilitate compatibility of Millennium ILL's email functionality with MINITEX systems.

Automate Your Way Out of a Job:
Using Scripting to Automate Repetitive Tasks in Your Innovative System
Mike Bloomberg, Circulation Coordinator, James G. Lindell Library, Augsburg College
Don Zhou, Technical Services/Systems Librarian, James G. Lindell Library, Augsburg College
One of the advantages of an integrated library system is the ability to use a variety of programming languages to automate repetitive tasks. This presentation will demonstrate how the Augsburg College Library uses the Expect and PERL programming languages to automate many basic, frequently-performed tasks in their Innovative system. Augsburg staff have automated a variety of tasks in their circulation and technical services areas including the running monthly statistics and the processing overdue notices and pull slips for patron-placed holds.

Macalester's LESTER Project:
Incorporating Access to an Innovative System into a Campus Web Portal
Sara Suelflow, DeWitt Wallace Library, Macalester College
Web portals are all about providing easy and convenient access to resources. On any college campus, the library and its services are a major resource. Learn about Macalester College's home-grown web portal called LESTER which has grown from an initial MyLibrary tool into a full campus Web portal. See how the library has worked to maintain high visibility within this Web resource and how it has incorporated easy access to many Innovative system features in to LESTER

Creating MARC Records for CLICnet using E-Journal Title Lists
Amy Kreitzer, Systems Librarian, St Paul Campus Library, College of St. Catherine
This session will describe a procedure used by the CLIC libraries to create records for journal titles in aggregator databases. Using a spreadsheet of title information, a MARC template, and MARCmaker, the records are created with as little human intervention as possible. The records are then uploaded to the Innopac using a local load profile. The process of doing this type of task as well as maintenance issues will be discussed.

Extending the Capabilities of the Web Catalog:
MyMillennium & Web Content Linking
Ron Joslin, Systems Librarian, DeWitt Wallace Library, Macalester College
Tom Prein, Electronic Services Librarian, O'Shaughnessy-Frey Library, Univ of St. Thomas
This session will examine the Web content linking and MyMillennium features - two methods available within the Innovative system for extending the capabilities of the Web catalog. The ability to add enriched bibliographic content such as tables of contents, reviews, book summaries, author notes, book-jacket images, first chapters, and fiction and biography profiles will be discussed focusing on products available through two particular vendors: Syndetic Solutions and Baker & Taylor. The MyMillennium feature empowers patron and staff use of the public catalog including giving patrons the ability to change personal information, eliminating the need to re-authenticate when performing many functions, and the ability to save favorite searches.
