Creating An Online
Training Program for Your Millennium System:
The University of Colorado at Boulder Experience
Holley Long, Systems Librarian for Digital Initiatives,
University of Colorado at Boulder
Most libraries are challenged with keeping staff up-to-date on the many
constantly changing systems that they use. This session will highlight
an online staff training program created at the University of Colorado
at Boulder to keep their staff trained on the Millennium system. Holley
Long, CU-Boulder's Systems Librarian for Digital Initiatives, will share
what their motivation was for using this online training method, the steps
they took in creating their program and how it was received by their library
staff. She will also discuss the advantages and "challenges"
to this type of training program and will talk about the differences they've
experienced in keeping staff trained and what, if anything, they would
have done differently.
