Collaboration and Community Partnerships: MELSA’s Museum Adventure Pass Project
Chris Olson, Executive Director
Metropolitan Library Service Agency (MELSA)

105 public library buildings, 17 museums, and a corporate sponsor (Macy’s) collaborate to bring a new adventure to the Twin Cities. Just use your library card to check out a Museum Adventure Pass and get free admission for up to four people at participating arts and cultural institutions. This project, launched in September 2006, is bringing thousands of library users into local museums. Hear the story of the idea concept, the creation of great community partnerships, and how detailed logistical planning has made this a successful and exciting program.
