Acting MN IUG “Steering Committee” Minutes

Present: Ron Joslin, Michaela Brenner, Paddy Satzer and Sara Leake

1. Bylaws, Mission Statement, Goals, Dues etc….

• research various user groups online
• Ron gave a copy of a few policies of III user groups online
• email Paddy with suggestions.
• Paddy is writing a rough draft for the next meeting.
• Change of name from Midwest to Minnesota III Users Group.

1. Wisconsin, Iowa and Illinois already have their own user groups

2. We would still invite anyone who wants to come to our conferences from the other groups.

2. October Conference Date

• set or confirm date with St. Paul Public
• III representative come?
• Possible topics of interest. What topics to people want? Who will present?

1. Create lists

2. New III products

3. Inventory

4. Electronic reserves

5. E-Journal management

6. Linking holdings (serials)

7. Electronic Invoicing

8. Serial Solutions

9. Phase II 2002

3. Draft to work with of the October Conference Day

• Sara will prepare a draft for the next meeting.
• Luncheon Speaker?
• 6 hrs (9-3)
• Consult with St. Paul Public once the draft worked through
• Tours of St. Paul Public?
• Management Meeting?
• III Representative

4. Membership Dues

• Institution dues?
• Individual dues?
• Conference fees? Probably…but just enough to cover the expenses re: lunch

5. Web Page

• Should this stay on the Macalester server?
• Should we pay $ and have an independent server?
