REMARKS 10:00am-10:15am GENERAL SESSION 10:15am-11:30am Presenter: Life in technical services sure has changed in the past ten years. Powerful integrated systems, electronic ordering and claiming, and collection and management of electronic resources have all contributed to change how technical services does business. Has your technical services workflow changed with the times? Linda will share her thoughts on designing a workflow to fit today's reality. 2:15pm-3:00pm Presenter: David Lesniaski, Collection Development Librarian, St. Olaf College. Within our Innovative Library Systems is a wealth of data including usage and holdings information. In this session, David will explore the processes that can be used for extracting data from the system and importing it in to other programs where it can be more easily manipulated, used for other purposes or made more presentable. |

ISSUES FORUMS Issue forums are an opportunity for staff interested in the specific topics to sit down with others from Innovative libraries to share experiences, ideas, strategies, and information and to get questions answered. 3:15pm-4:00pm Forum A: Bindery management procedures Discussion leader: Dani Roach, Library Specialist in Collection Management/Serials at Macalester College's DeWitt Wallace Library. Are you in a bind? Are you bound to share your knowledge with others? Please bring your questions, tips and helpful hints on Innovative's binding functions to this Binding Issues Forum. The discussion leader will facilitate conversation and exchange after a brief review of Innovative's binding functions. Both Millennium and text-based questions and tips are welcomed. Please come prepared to participate and bring copies of written procedures or any materials your colleagues may be able to make use of. Forum B: Issues in music acquisitions Discussion leader: Dawn Moder, Library Associate, St. Olaf College. Acquiring
music materials for a library can present special and unique challenges.
This session provides an opportunity for people involved with music acquisitions
to get together to share ideas, strategies, and information. Possible
discussion topics include vendors available for different types of music,
uniform titles, and methods for verifying current holdings. |
