About MULCH MULCH stands for Macalester Urban Land and Community Health. As our name suggests, one of our goals is to educate Macalester and the surrounding community about urban agriculture, environmental justice, food and gardening. We do this by maintaining a garden on the Macalester campus in St. Paul, Minnesota, offering skills and info workshops, hosting an annual Harvest Festival, and organizing trips during fall break to work on farms around the Midwest. Macalester Urban Land and Community Health is one of the oldest student organizations at Macalester College. For the past few years, MULCH has provided fresh produce to Cafe Mac, the campus cafeteria, in exchange for seed money. Dishes made from MULCH produce are usually offered in the Fall - check next time you eat! MULCH alumni have gone on to do amazing things, such as working for great organizations like the Women's Environmental Institute, Youth Farm, and Farm in the City, as well as running their own farms.
